LENNART NIELSEN is a German-American writer and actor based in Brooklyn. He is a graduate of Northwestern University, where he studied Playwriting and Creative Writing under the tutelage of Laura Schellhardt, Julie Marie Myatt, Averill Curdy, Joshua Mehigan, and Shauna Seliy. His poetry in college was twice recognized with the Jean Meyer Aloe Prize from the American Academy of Poets. Current projects in development include the novel The Institute of Stars and the play Again, the Spell, an early version of which won the 2021 Special Jury Prize, FMM Fellowship for Works in Heightened Language from Synecdoche Works.

While at Northwestern, he developed immersive New Work experiences as Directing Chair of Sit and Spin Productions, an on-campus experimental theatre company, and participated in the Agnes Nixon Playwriting Festival 2021.
